Just what is it about people that makes them cause so many accidents?

Children (0-15 years)
The human factor in accidents to children may include one, or more likely, several of the following:
Poor parental/adult supervision, small physical stature, stress or upset (possibly brought about by family argument, illness, trouble at school, etc.) curiosity, showing off and taking risks, spirit of adventure, ignorance of the world and its dangers, lack of knowledge and training.

Children until the age of at least 12 years, have not sufficiently developed their powers of logical reasoning to be able to know and understand what danger is and how to deal with it when it arises. They require therefore, very careful supervision, particularly when very young.

Adults
The human factor in accidents to adults may be due to any combination of the following:
Impatience, carelessness, stress, fatigue, absentmindedness (possibly linked to stress and tiredness), negligence, irresponsible behaviour, taking risks, spirit of adventure, inadequate knowledge and training, sudden illness, the ageing factor, alcohol, drugs and medicines negligence and a general disregard for personal health and safety.

Other contributory factors may include mechanical defects, faulty appliances, poorly designed products, poor house wiring, gas leaks etc. All of which may give reasonable cause to pursue your legal entitlements for compensation
