| Hernando County, Florida DUI Lawyer Top Ten Indicators of a Drunk Driver |
|
Many clients feel as though they are singled out as drivers due to the type of car they drive or where they go after work. That may be the case, but below is what I have learned as both a DUI Prosecutor and DUI Defense Attorney about what law enforcement looks for when identifying a potential DUI.
1
#1 Making a wide turnAfter actually hitting something or someone, this is probably the most often cited driving condition that will get you pulled over. 2
#2 Hugging the center lineInterestingly, not the shoulder line, but the center line is a typical indicator used by Florida Law Enforcement. 3
#3 Weaving, Swerving, Drifting; #4 Driving the wrong direction; #5 Driving on a undesignated road; #6 Following too closelyObviously the traditional "Failure to Maintain a SIngle Lane" will get you pulled over every time, but just as dangerous is driving in the wrong direction (not difficult at night in unfamiliar areas), driving on non marked access roads and tailgating another motorist (hopefully not an officer). 4
#7 Braking erratically; #8 Inconsistent signaling; #9 No headlights; and #10 Accelerating and Decelerating RapidlyThe Brake lights are big spotlight for drivers, as are the turn signals. But, of all the illuminators, the headlights are the biggest problem area and thenlastly speeding up and hitting the brakes is problematic. Newer news items:
